About Sameer Jha
I am a 15 year old LGBTQ+ advocate with a goal to make schools safe and educational for ALL students regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity. I am driven by my own experiences with bullying and harassment throughout elementary and middle school. With those memories in mind, I have created The Empathy Alliance to ensure that no one should experience what I went through.
In my role as an LGBTQ+ activist, I run The Empathy Alliance, serve on the Youth Board of The GSA Network in Northern California, head my school’s Gender and Sexuality Awareness club, and sit on the Executive Committee of my school's Equity Leadership Team. I have worked with educators and students from over fifty schools; and have taught classes and facilitated workshops reaching hundreds of students on topics as diverse as understanding intersectionality, starting a GSA, overcoming hidden bias, and exploring gender. I also work to improve the lives of LGBTQ+ people by partnering with many amazing organizations and their campaigns and events.
